Inside Spring Garden’s Soon-To-Be-Demolished Church of the Assumption

Built in 1848, the Church of the Assumption, at 12th and Spring Garden streets, has been abandoned for quite some time, and it looks as though, despite heated opposition and the fact that it’s on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places, it will most likely be demolition very soon.
