Best part of a blackout in Center City? People’s utter disbelief that the Wine and Spirits is closed!

Today, the blocks between 12th and 13th, and Walnut and Chestnut experienced a near two hour blackout. (I know because I work there.) An area packed with lunchtime restaurants and cafes, yet the hardest hit spot was the liquor store… Philadelphia, you are one of a kind.

(Oh, and I know the guy with tools may look like he’s there to help fix the power outage, but PECO was right up the street. He was just a regular Joe saddened by the lack of booze.)
