Street art meets performance art meets furry monsters. Oh my God, I’m in LOVE with this!! Yesterday I recieved an email with these photos from Philadelphia plush toy designer Diane Koss, explaining:

“Hi Conrad! I’m writing to you because I recently finished a monster mascot head for my company to help promote my business at craft shows and, more importantly, to shake things up around town every now and then. It’s been a plan of mine for a few years now and I finally made it come to fruition! I’m hoping to create a new blog specifically for “sightings” of the monster and other posts related to the mascot. I took it out for the first time in Philly yesterday (Tuesday) and had such an awesome time behind the furry walls. People’s reactions (and non-reactions) were awesome to say the least. We romped around South Philly, Chinatown, and Northern Liberties and can’t wait to get back out and liven things up in the city again!”

Diane makes hand-stitched furry monsters, among many, many other cool things like mugs, pillows, and baby hoodies, all of which you can find on her Etsy, here.

Best of all? She shot this video of her in her monster mascot head interacting with some AMAZED children on the street:

  1. This is too cute!

  2. Seeing those kids shyly go for hugs put a big smile on my face.
