Not that impressive of a tag, but the fact that it’s on this ritzy Rittenhouse hotel is amazing… I wonder if they even know it’s up there?

They know the tag’s up there. I used to work at that hotel, and we knew about it then. I haven’t worked there for about 4 years, so, uh, yeah,…We would actually get complaints from people who live in high rises to the south, because they thought it was a blight on the air rights they’d paid for when they bought their condo.

When someone builds a high rise in a downtown area, often times they also buy from/petition the city for the right to not have any other tall buildings built near them for a certain amount of time, so as not to block the view, and they call these air rights. So, yeah, the tag didn’t block anyone’s view, but some people sure thought it ruined it.
