So excited to finally announce my TEDx Walk exploring Philly street art in association with TEDxPhiladelphia 2014

Come celebrate and explore Philadelphia: the street art workshop of the world.

Join Conrad Benner, photographer and creator of StreetsDept.com (a Philadelphia-based street art blog,) in discovering a diverse array of Philly street art and graffiti, covering two of the city’s most active neighborhoods for public art: Midtown Village and Fishtown.

Beginning in Midtown Village in Center City, we’ll explore the work of internationally renown artists: Vilhs, How and Nosm, Gaia and Kenny Scharf. We’ll then walk to the 13th Street stop of the Market-Frankford El and take the train to Fishtown, where we will see the work of a number of prominent local artists.

Philadelphia is the birthplace of modern graffiti, dating back to the late 1960s. The city continues to thrive today as a center for public art in all its countless forms. From the murals curated by the Mural Arts Program to wheatpastes, stickers, installations and graffiti, Philly has the largest public art collection in the country.
