Incredible new mural this month from Lenapehoking / New York City-based artist Jess X. Snow and Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Art Education program

Located at 3404 Kensington Avenue and titled, “The Future Is Worth The Fight, Just Hold On & You Will See,” the mural was painted with support from Mural Arts Restorative Justice Department’s Women’s Reentry Pilot Program participants and assisting artists Sonja John, Kah Yangni, Michael Konrad, and Malachi Floyd.

“This mural features the portrait of local high school student, Cameron, maternal family, and letters of a group of Philadelphia-based high school students and their families,” Mural Arts explained in an Instagram post. “The students examined Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC)-led alternatives to community care and safety that don’t rely on local, state, or federal aid. The goal of the mural is to build solidarity between young people from all over the city to meet the current moment and envision a new world through art-making.”
