Another AMAZING set from Ruin Porn! This time she takes us inside Northern Liberties’ abandoned Ortlieb’s Brew House, at 3rd and Poplar streets.

Still set for demolition (I believe,) you may remember the video I posted back in October of 2012, which showed Philly filmmaker, Daniel Davison, climbing to the top of the neighborhood landmark to leave a little farewell message. Or you may even remember the time I popped in myself (albeit briefly) back in May of 2011, which incedently was my first ever ‘urbex’ experience. Well before I knew that there was even a word used to describe the investigation of abandoned urban spaces, of course.

And I guess because it’s just so ridiculously easy to get into – the last time I went, in fact, there was a small group of seemingly tipsy 50-somethings snapping cell phone photos and giggling all around the inner courtyard – the place is constantly getting updated with new graffiti. (Note: While a gigantic sometimes-repaired hole in the fence may make it shockingly simple to walk around the courtyard area, the inside of the building itself is falling apart, and it’s really pretty dangerous; broken and soon-to-be-broken staircases and the like.)

Check out a few more photos from Ruin Porn’s latest escape into the old Ortlieb’s brewery below, or go see our collection of various Philly urban exploration galleries HERE!

  1. I went here on my birthday this year with a two fellow urbexers. We were all pretty drunk and it was 5 am, but it was great. We also went to the ten story on 5th & master.

  2. The tree growing through the roof is a spot I want to utilize for a fashion shoot. I went there about two years ago and haven’t been back since, but it’s been calling me.
