Under Philadelphia: Inside Philly’s Abandoned Subway Tunnels

Out of respect for the countless writers and artists who have transformed these spaces over DECADES into outright graffiti meccas, I will not mention where any of these photos were taken, nor will I respond to any emails or direct messages asking me. I’ll simply let the photos speak for themselves… If you know, you know, if you don’t, you won’t. Just enjoy!

Reminds me of the closed off parts of the City Hall PATCO stop, though this place has way more graffiti. https://southjerseyist.wordpress.com/2016/01/12/ghosts-of-city-hall-the-patco-station-youve-never-seen/

So many beautiful spaces & pieces of amazing architectural detailing. What’s going to happen to all the buildings, equipment, & furniture? Where I’m from, a lot of this would be salvaged & sold to the public or reused in other spaces. Maybe that’s what will happen with all the surplus seen in these pics as well?

While checking out your mural stuff, I tripped into the abandoned subway spots. Heartbreaking in my little world. But my heart is also breaking over Turkey, Syria, Ukraine so I must put into perspective. Thanks for your spot on views of the streets of Phila where I (and many others) have lived for all our years.
