Titled ‘Equal Parts,’ Philly-based artist Mackenzie Vaughan Pikaart just put up this colorful 3-D installation at 22nd and Market streets in Center City. This intersection, of course, was the site of the infamous Center City building collapse that killed six people and injured 14, all who were shopping at a neighboring Salvation Army. The collapse led to a criminal investigation and conviction, which you can read more about here.
After installing her piece, the artist wrote the following on Instagram: “Let us remember those that lost their lives in that building collapse In 2013.”
For those who read this blog regularly, you may remember Mackenzie’s recent “#Hope” installations which I posted about last week.
