Absolutely in love with this temporary public art installation by Philly-based artist, Lindsay Bedford! On view this weekend only (now through Monday, June 19th) at the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Petal Procession is an evolution of the artist’s 2022 version of this project at South Philly’s Percy Street. Made possible by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia Parks and Rec, and Mural Arts Philadelphia.
In a conversation, Lindsay described this latest iteration of the project as a pure celebration of public art and design at one of Philadelphia’s most visited sites.

Installation of The Petal Procession began at 5 AM Friday, June 16th and was nearly completed by the time I arrived to document at 10:30 AM.
Assisting artists for this project included students from Lindsay’s alma mater, Drexel University‘s Interior Architecture and Design program: Tri-Jeye Villaroel, Tasha Singh, Ananya Vijayendra, Nihitha Sreenath, Tanaya Deshpande, Almudena Muñoz Ferrán. As well as two artists from Mural Arts’ Philadelphia Fellowship For Black Artists (of which Lindsay was also a Fellow): Shakira Hunt and Kita Richardson.
