Anyone else see that in the new Comcast tower?Words by #WillieNelson, sticker by @brunofsky!❤️ these summer nights!This just really says it all: A photo today of @MichelleAngelaOrtiz's incredible 2015 installation for @MuralArts’ Open Source exhibition outside the I.C.E. building in Center City, Philadelphia. These words came from an undocumented immigrant mother, Ana, who was fighting with her daughter against their deportation... This installation was one in a series of temporary site-specific public art works, titled 'Familias Separadas,' that marked locations and documented stories of immigrant families affected by deportations in the city of Philadelphia. What a gigantic step back for Philadelphia. Our public spaces are too damn valuable to be littered with “CHEAP!” ads at every intersection of our city’s most walked streets. Who is ultimately responsible for this? @PhillyMayor? City Council President @Darrell_Clarke? The Center City District (@ccdparks)? The (other) @PhilaStreets Department? Who do we hold to account, because we can not let this bullshit stand...
