LOVE this!! So, so much!!

Ishknits yarn bombed a couple of abandoned buildings on the stretch of Front street between the Berks El stop and Norris street in Kensington last night. Yes, the same Ishknits from “Yarn Bombing the Blue Line” fame. And she was nice enough to have me along again to snap these photos!!

UPDATE:

Before this post even went live, someone Instagramed me this photo of (at least) 1 of these yarn bombs torn down and left in a ball next to where it was installed… What the fuck, Philly? This is why we can’t have nice things!

  1. While I do think they look interesting, they really aren’t the most pleasant, and healthy form of street art. These yarn bombs get damp and breed mold and crazy types of bacteria.

  3. I agree with Bob. They look cool until they are rained on a few times. I’ve seen so many around that are filthy and disgusting. I hope there is follow up removal. The last thing this city needs is more filth.
