And Now, Some Friday Afternoon Inspiration
(“In pursuit of magic” stencil found at 15th and Locust streets)
On a completely non-street art related note, I just caught this little dose of inspiration come across my Facebook feed, from Philadelphia’s own Lord Whimsy, and I thought it was too perfect not to share:
“I’m 45 today, which means that I’m likely more than halfway through my lifespan–probably way, way more than halfway. Could be at 95% for all I know. I know there are a lot of legitimately scared people among us these days, who in their quiet desperation take their frustrations out on other people who aspire to more than mere existence, sling the old “first world problems” clause at anyone daring to scramble out of the bushel. These folks are to be helped, and if not helped, then pitied. If you are unhappy or unfulfilled, keep fighting. Keep trying to find a way out. Live an interesting life, not a comfortable one. Try to get away with living as many lives as you can, and don’t let bullshit shibboleths like “respectability” or “expectations” get in your way. Despite what the Big Rock Candy Mountain peddlers tell you: this is all there is, and there is no more. Live while you are alive. Expend yourself. Shine in use until you break. You won’t regret it. Charge.”
Amen!
Yes! Thank you for that ;)
