This is one of my favorite things…ever (maybe that’s an exaggeration, but either way, these are AMAZING!)
Who needs a Banksy when you’ve got the creative minds of Philadelphia?
I seriously can’t stop laughing… Congrats to whoever did this. You win. You win Philadelphia.
I’m not sure if this is the kind of stuff that should be encouraged. If someone wants to make a public artistic statement, they can find their own art. This is really nothing but cheap vandalism and frankly not very interesting or well thought out. Whoever did this is pretty pathetic.
Its not pathetic. Holding onto traditional art is pathetic.
Without the presence of the “traditional art” – there would be no vehicle for the gesture here. The artist would have had to devise an entirely autonomous creation. It would seem that without the original work in place – the gesture would change drastically. Not quite sure what the intended gesture is here – beyond humor.
Art or not, it’s quite clever. Vandalism? Where the statues harmed in anyway?
