Bid on Artwork for Wall Ball 2017, Mural Arts’ Annual Fundraiser Auction
Incredibly excited and honored to tell y’all that – for the second year in a row – I’ve been invited to be curator for Mural Arts’ annual Wall Ball silent art auction and fundraiser!
I’ve been working with the team at Mural Arts and many incredible local and national artists over the last few months to pick out some truly inspired pieces that I hope you’ll want to bid on.
I suppose that at this point it goes without saying that I think the world of Mural Arts. They have made this city better in more ways than I could possibly count in a single blog post. And I’ve been fortunate enough to work with them in various creative ways over the last several years (Instagram takeovers, hosting walking tours for them, etc.) I love that we all get to live in a city that has a vibrate and active (illegal/non-commissioned) street art and graffiti scene as well as a world renown (legal/commissioned) public mural program. The two support each-other and the wider Philly arts scene in ways that other cities would dream of, and I’m just so proud.
Speaking of our city’s many incredible artists, a number of them are participating in this silent art auction. Including some of Philly’s street art staples, like Aubrie Costello, Amberella (in collaboration with Cooper O’Neil), Ephemeroh, and Joe Boruchow (whose pieces are photographed above.) As well as local contemporary artist Lauren Rinaldi, Brooklyn-based artist Kevin Lyons, and Detroit artist Tyree Guyton (whose pieces are photographed below!)
Sales from this silent art auction support the artist whose work you bid on, in addition to supporting Mural Arts Philadelphia over the next year.
Check out all the artwork up for auction here (the auction site also includes many experiences up for bids as well!) Tickets to the actual Wall Ball fundraising event can be purchased here.
