A new street art series from Philly-based street artist, Amberella, offers hope to any/all Philadelphians going through it right now.

Probably best known for her ubiquitous Goth Heart series that’s been going strong for about two years now and which has helped to propel the artist to become one of Philly’s most well-know street artists, her new Fortunate series is wheatpasting words of support and encouragement.

In addition to the Fortunate paste photographed in this post that’s located on 2nd street at Girard avenue in Northern Liberties, Amberella’s new series has also pasted the following phrases around Philly: “No one can diminish your light, keep shining,” “You will be ok,” and “You will be happy again.”

Amberella’s ability to (seemingly effortlessly) mix the personal with the universal is just one of the reasons I’m such a big fan of her work, and as a big believer in the butterfly effect as well I’m so excited to watch this new series flourish and inspire!

Do you wish people didn’t do it? Maybe you do. But should people receive huge fines or even go to jail for it? Absolutely freaking not.) In Bucket A, we have things like murals, public art, and monuments. And in Bucket B, we have graffiti and street art. […]
