UK-based artist My Dog Sighs Creates Mural on South Street
(Photos by Streets Dept Contributor Eric Dale)
LOVE this… New mural this month from UK-based artist My Dog Sighs located at 5th and South Streets!
Curated and organized by HAHA x Paradigm, the Philadelphia-based initiative that produces engaging public art projects in the South Street, Bella Vista, and Queen Village neighborhoods, and created in partnership with the South Street Headhouse District and the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, the new mural offers a pair of tributes to the city. First, integrated into the background of his mural, layers of teal, brown, and gold paint partially cover My Dog’s free handing the sentimental lyrics of Neil Young’s Philadelphia (more photos of that here.) Second, the eyes hold an image of My Dog and Robert Perry, owner of South Streets’ Tattooed Mom.
Check out my photos from My Dog Sighs’ 2014 visit to Philly to install around town here!
There are quite a few of My Dog Sighs (a.k.a. Paul Stone) works in my home town of Cheltenham UK I have met & spoken to him a few times while he’s been here painting.
