Let me be clear: Tiny Room for Elephants is hands down one of the best art things to happen in Philly in the last number of years…

Tiny Room for Elephants (TRFE) is, at its core, an incredible mix of pop-up murals from some of Philadelphia’s most talented and active artists. And this year’s exhibition, its 4th iteration since 2014, will be held at Cherry Street Pier, becoming the biggest (and arguably best) TRFE yet! Not only will there be temporary murals from dozens of Philly artists, but there will also be a couple really dynamic art installations, as well as TRFE’s first ever sticker wall.

Tiny Room for Elephants 2019
WHEN: Friday 4/19 (Opening Party 6-10pm, Tickets Required – $25 w/ open bar); Saturday 4/20 (9am-9pm, FREE); Sunday 4/21 (12-6pm, FREE)
WHERE: Cherry Street Pier, 121 North Christopher Columbus Blvd (aka we will always and forever call this Delaware Ave)

A self-funded, collaborative, multi genre art and music experience, Tiny Room for Elephants is the brainchild of lead organizers/curators Damion Ward, YaYa Horne, Eric Boss, Jason Bachman, Chris White, and Andrew Case. And I mention self-funded just to underscore the fact that outside of a few donations, this festival/ exhibition is not grant funded or corporately funded. It’s funded by the organizers themselves. So, if you’re able, I encourage you to get tickets to Friday night’s opening party to show your support!

This year’s list of brilliant artists includes: Adam Crawford, Air Rat, Ali M. Williams, Alloyius McIlwaine, Amber Arts Collective, Andrew Case, Angry Elephant (Sticker Stampede), Ben Howard, Mars Five, Eric Okdeh, Femi, Flygirrl, FreekUgly, Gianni Lee, Joshua Ruggeri, Kwes, Lawren Alice, LOTITS, Mont Brown, Noel Wilmore, Phil Asbury, Plastic Fantastic, Priscilla Anacakuyani Bell, Saga Moor, Sean 9 Lugo, Seper, Serena Saunders, Sydney Cain, SZ, Terrance Woolford, Tim McFarlane, Wiser Oner, and Yomi!

In addition to the murals and art installations, Tiny Room for Elephants is also a music experience that will welcome sounds from: Camp Candle, Club Crusades, Eric Boss, Johnny PopcornAime, Blue Drew, Emynd, Expo, Oluwafemi, Jabair, John Morrison, Kayin x Sylo, Killiam Shakespeare, Kingsley Ibeneche, Mellowbastard, Pierson, Queen Jo, Rover Rover, Shane tha Great, Suzanne Sheer, Tha Riva, The Bul Bey, Sundae Side Up, Aktive, Francisco Collazo, Glen Thornton, Lee Jones, and Rebel Foster.

Last but not least, Tiny Room for Elephants will also be selling some select items and prints from a number of their artists, so be sure to bring some money if you can to support the artists selling work.

Do not miss this awesome event, y’all!

  1. […] That’s evolving into more sculptural designs [like] my kinetic sculpture that was a part of the Tiny Room festival this year. However, Secret Portals is an abstract atmosphere. I want people to come in and get an experience. […]
