Steve (ESPO) Powers Paints On Spring Garden
New temporary mural this weekend at 12th and Spring Garden Streets from Philly’s own Steve (ESPO) Powers, created with support from Mural Arts Philadelphia and Spring Arts!
The legendary artist painted the piece on a former bank, which you can see him having fun with in the phrases and quotes he chose to use in the mural. Phrases like, “Invest in love for the best returns,” which could also be a wink at his enormously popular A Love Letter For You series of murals along SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line El that he completed in 2010.
ESPO wrote the following about his new mural to his Instagram after its creation: “THANK YOU PHILADELPHIA YOU MADE ME LIKE THE ROCKY STATUE; some parts too big, some too small all of me just wrong enough to be alright!”
