New Shawn Theodore “Seasons” Mural on Ridge Ave

In love with this new mural from Philly-based interdisciplinary artist, Shawn Theodore, located at Corlies Street and Ridge Avenue! Installed late last spring and officially dedicated last month, the new mural was created with Mural Arts Philadelphia.

“I used a photo of someone from the neighborhood and built around that, showing the cyclical nature of seasonal change and showcasing Black beauty as a constant in that change,” Shawn explained in an interview with Mural Arts. “I love this neighborhood because it’s where I started my street photography career. So much work that’s in my catalogue and in my heart is from here. I’m not from this neighborhood, but I wanted to give back because it has given me so much.”
