South Street Creates New Mural At The Site of Recent Mass Shooting

June 30, 2022

A touching new mural was created yesterday by Philly-based artist BKLvisions. The mural, which reads “love heals all,” was created on the plywood that was put up after the mass shooting that took place on South Street earlier this month; South Street at 3rd Street.

“Thank you [South Street Headhouse District] for allowing me to use my gift to shed some positive energy and love back into the South Street community as well as our city,” BKLvisions wrote on Instagram today. “I hope the residents enjoy it and that it brings hope, peace, and comfort to them.”

“This project is the latest addition to a series of public art coming to the South Street Headhouse District,” South Street Headhouse District wrote to me over email. “We are honored to work with BKLVisions again, especially in such an impactful and large-scale way. South Street is a wonderfully diverse and unique community of 400+ businesses, as well as residents and visitors, and BKLVision’s message of love, healing, and community is at the core of who we are and what we have always tried to exemplify.”
