The Eagles Get Love from Philly Muralists and Writers

In the lead up to the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Super Bowl win this past Sunday, Philly was treated to two new murals that reflected our city’s excitement and eagerness to finally become the world champions of football and beat the New England Patriots. (F*&k Tom Brady.)

Above, we have a new mural by Meg Saligman and Lizzie Kripke outside the Meg Saligman Studio on Bainbridge street between 8th and 9th streets in Bella Vista. And in this mural’s short life, it has already inspired so much love online and across social media that there’s currently a fundraising campaign to paint the exact image even bigger and more permanently somewhere in Philly. The campaign’s website reads:

“Build the legacy. The famous mural in South Philly that foretold victory, pretty much exactly as it played out, is ready to soar. This historic Super Bowl win by our Eagles deserves a proper tribute. May this be the first of many monuments to come! Go birds! Fly High Fly Big.”

Below, a new mural by Cashtashtrophe popped up at 5th street and Cecil B. Moore avenue in North Philly, to which the writer added the words “World Champs” after Sunday’s win!
